Skynation is proud to announce its digital involvement with the event known as Coolaid!
Coolaid is Vancouver’s newest underground Hip-Hop Music Showcase, curated by Skynation’s very own C.E.O., Kayode Fatoba.
The focus of Coolaid is to bring up-and-coming artists together on the same stage, who might otherwise never connect. And when Coolaid says artists, it does not just limit itself to musicians. For this first showcase event of its kind, it will also feature live painting from renowned painter Jace Kim; a Canadian painter currently based in Vancouver, BC. He was born and raised in Korea where he was highly influence by comic book art until the age of 15; and graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design with a bachelor’s degree in Media Art.
The headliner for this event features Producer/Hip-Hop artist Devontee who coined the word “WOE,” Working on Excellence, which was later mimicked by Drake. According to an interview by The405, “Working on Excellence, isn’t just the term for Devontée’s long-time team and fervent movement, but also stands as a title for the distinct value he places on work ethic to develop his craft and deliver the kind of projects like District Vibe, his Toronto-flavoured sophomore release.”
While a new concept to the city, one can only expect this event to get bigger and better!
